Team and earnings
In short. Record the other surgeons on a case alongside your own role. Trainees record supervision; consultants can record earnings per case. Add a hospital under Settings → Account.
Your surgical team
A case is often more than one surgeon. You might be the primary surgeon and call a urologist in as your secondary, or a colleague might call you in on his case.
- Open the case and find the surgical team. Your own role is shown first.
- Type a colleague’s name and pick secondary surgeon or tertiary surgeon. The order is the ranking.
- The language is primary, secondary, tertiary, never “assistant”. These are peers on the same operation.
Names here are colleagues’ names, professional credit and not patient information. Your own role stays as you set it, and is the one that appears on your case list, your statistics and a credentialing logbook.
If you are a trainee
On a hospital where Your role here is Trainee, the case page also asks for your supervision: independent, supervised or observed. You can also record the supervising consultant as a member of the team. On a Consultant posting neither appears, because you operate independently. Set your role per hospital under Settings → Account.
Earnings per case
With no hospital settlement sheet, such as cash work or private practice, record earnings on the case. Open a case and use Financials:
- Generated is the total bill.
- Surgeon fee is your take-home. Type the amount, or a percentage and let the app work it out.
The app remembers your usual ratio per hospital and pre-fills the fee. Both numbers are typed, never dictated, and the currency follows the hospital. They are scrambled on your phone, so nobody reading our servers sees a readable figure. See Where your data lives.
Figures you enter feed Insights → Fair return: your earnings, earnings per hour when you also record operative time, and the share you keep, each with the number of cases it came from. If a hospital sheet later covers the same period, the sheet’s figures take over.
Financials shows on Consultant postings. It stays hidden on a Trainee posting.
Adding a hospital
Under Settings → Account, the search list shows hospitals where you are. The app works out your country from your phone and shows it above the search box, for example Hospitals in Oman. For a visiting post or a locum abroad, tap change and choose the right country, so the currency and matching are correct.
Less common
- A colleague’s name is plain text, not part of the scrambled patient record.
- Only tap change when the hospital is not where you are right now.
